PROJECT & PRESENTATION (DESTINATION TRAVELOGUE)

    Creative writing is the narration of a journey based on personal experience in a place or a thing that has been passed. Travel writing can take many forms, such as newspaper articles, essays, journals, blogs and autobiographies. It can also be written as a book, telling a longer narrative about a journey or place. Many types of travel writing contain characteristics of non-fiction literature.

    However, for this blog, I want to tell about the trip during the Chinese New Year in 2018, where it is the most memorable day in my memory. This excursion is limited to my hometown of Tenom, which is well-known among coffee lovers. , Tenom also houses factories that supply several companies like Fatt Choi Coffee, Yit Foh Coffee, and Tong Fah Coffee with their own plan business.

    First of all, Tenom is one of the major coffee producing areas in the State, and it has been dubbed as “Sabah’s coffee capital”. The majority of Tenoms are Muruts and some Kadazandusuns as well as Lundayeh.

    On the day of the Chinese New Year celebration, brothers and sisters from as far away as Kota Kinabalu and Sarawak travel to Tenom to celebrate the holiday. We shared a huge meal together that night to bond with one other. At the same time, we enjoyed the brothers' own fireworks display.

    The next day, our family went to the guest market to eat breakfast together, after eating breakfast, we went to Yit Foh Coffee to travel. Yit Foh Coffee has been established for a long time since 1960 by Mr.Yong Loong Vun. It first began with its oldest and one of the most famous coffee factories in Sabah. In 2017, Yit Foh Coffee Park that consists of Yit Foh Robusta Restaurant and Coffee Park Cottage was born.

    Additionally, Yit Foh Coffee features a photo shot or relaxing time area, this relaxation park known as "A Sky of Colorful Umbrellas" garden, the décor is meant  to shield visitors from hot weather or precipitation. Furthermore, Yit Foh Coffee also provides accommodation facilities , where their cottages are specially designed and named after favorite coffee. Each unit is equipped with an attached bathroom and the best suit balcony for relaxation time.

    Yit Foh coffee also has a café called "Yit Foh Robusta Café" directly adjacent to the cottages. The café serves all-day Asian and Western meals from 11 am to 9:30 pm daily, making your stay more convenient. If you appreciate coffee , you can come here to experience the beauty of the surroundings as well as the coffee.

    Before leaving for our next destination, we took a snapshot as a memory of Chinese New Year's Day 2018. Although this place is often visited on Chinese New Year celebrations, the company often improves their services, such as in terms of facilities, food, act of service and marketing.

    The next destination is Fatt Choi Coffee Cabin, which is located on a pre-trip to Yit Foh Coffee. Tenom Fatt Choi Coffee is founded by Mr.Foong Choon Sang in the year of 1983 and established in 1986, this brand of Tenom coffee products include white coffee, cinnamon coffee, black coffee and many more. Besides, TFC Coffee cafe was launched in 2014, it was the first cafe opened in Tenom town to provide a cozy environment for locals and tourists to enjoy freshly made Fatt Choi Coffee. If you want to enter the place, you will have to pay for an entrance ticket costing RM2 for the local's price.

    This is an ideal place for some people to retreat and also if you are a sunrise lover, you will see the beautiful sunset or sunrise at here. From this area, you can see the longest bridge, where the bridge has a history of standing for decades as traffic to Kemabong. This is a homestay facility offering free coffee, tea, and chocolate drinks with every room package. Furthermore, this location offers a stunning vista that encompasses the entire Tenom region.     Fatt Choi Coffee Cabin also provides facilities such as cafés, or special places to sell for locals to sell their own products, such as fried food and drinks.     The first thing guests see when they go inside the Fatt Choi Coffee Cabin is a large Sabah pattern that is also inscribed with tourist destinations. Additionally, as tourist board "The Dawn of Tenom", tourists will experience a stunning panorama where they can see the entire Tenom area. This place is perfect for family holidays, or friends.

    Along with displaying antique coffee bean baking equipment, Fatt Choi Coffee Cabin also provides a brief history of Fatt Choi Coffee. For students who are studying abroad and would like to learn more about the traditional methods of cooking coffee beans, this location is ideal.

    In conclusion, based on my experience, the difference between Yit Foh Coffee and Fatt Choi Coffee is that they have different marketing to sell their products, examples in terms of packaging, plans to promote products, as well as the taste of the products are almost the same, just depending on which customer they prefer.
